Description

Due to the walled nature of Scathen civilization, and its reliance on railways, most of the wilderness is untouched and wild.

The following is information about creatures inhabiting the Scathenwheld area.

Tundra Stalker
Alpha predator of Scathenwheld. Bigger and stronger than any other creature in Scathenwheld, it's a symbol of achievement if one is brought down during a hunt. Highly territorial, they are more than capable of dealing with large numbers of wolves or rams. Most of their bulk is muscle and fat

Icicle Wolves
Packs of wolves with a ice coating in their fur, Icicle wolves are concentrated along the southern portions of Scathenwheld, but they reach all over the area. Really only deadly to the unwary.

Frost Wraith
An undead nightmare. They are always shrouded within a blizzard, and they attack during the night. To touch their bodies will result in death. and those they kill will rise as new wraiths. Luckily they cannot fly, but are earthbound. They can and will snuff out any campfires during the night before an attack, but luckily they cannot open doors. They are repelled by fire, bullets, and Ogni's metal fist.

Northern Impaler Ram
Impaler rams are a species common to Ruhgaia. The northern variety, however, is one of the most aggressive breeds. The only herbivores inhabiting the wastes, herds of these creatures are capable of challenging and defeating a Tundra Stalker in combat, albeit with high casualties. Their meat is generally bland, but it is still nutritional.

Frost Nymph/Snow Woman
Nature spirits, albeit tied to the northern elements. Strangely, they refuse to listen to or obey foreigners, even if they normally hold sway over such things. They appear often in Scathen lore, and are considered a sign of good luck. On occasion, they are even said to aid a Scathen in need in the wilderness. They aren't hostile, and nobody has ever attempted provoking one to find out how dangerous they actually are.

Icebeak Diver
A northern bird, feeding primarily on fish. It gets it's name form it's thick chisel-like beak which it uses to break open ice with. They are very good swimmers, and decent flyers. They are generally harmless.
