NoR: Alaric Modith

Alaric is a Dragonrider in the House of True Heirs. He is also the last male of the Modith Lineage, (his sisters will carry the bloodline, but they will lose the family name if they marry.)

He was indoctrinated into the Dragonriders as a member of the Modith line as the promised thirdborn child. (unfortunately, he was the only son.) His dragon partner hatched as a brilliant green female, and bonded instantly to him.

He is valuable to the Heirs, not because of battle prowess, but because he is a soft-spoken individual who prefers to end battles with words. He is one of the few Heirs who is able to negotiate with the Guild.

He is also an excellent scout.

Alaric has a lack of armor, as his dragon partner doesn't enjoy a weighted rider. His main weapons are limited arcane magic and a zweihander.

Alaric has risen to prominence as one of the ideals of the Dragonriders, but still has the weight of dooming his noble bloodline. He is suspicious of Scathenwheld, and opposes widespread use of their technology, as he fears it will destroy the land in the end. (As such, politicians often send him into the field when negotiating with scathenwheld.)

This doesn't mean he hates the northern nation, though. Indeed, he respects the Scathen resolution to do everything without magical aid. He has found that their soldiers are among the most organized and efficient. (He doesn't approve of their ruthless methods, or their lack of honor on the field, however.)
