The suit was uncomfortable, stiff.  Adrian felt like the tie was choking him.

"Have you ever been to a formal event?"

"What sort of question is that?"  Adrian frowned, buttoning the shirt.

His brother grinned back, eyes hidden under the brim of his hat, "It's a valid one.  Considering that you're about to battle in Britalion...  and you neglected to pack a suit."

"Why would trainers need a suit anyways?" muttered the uncomfortable trainer, "I shouldn't have to dress up when I'm going to be battling..."

His brother just laughed, "That's where you're wrong.  Britalion's gym matches are kind of a big deal.  Big, elite academy, dueling the headmaster?  Yeah...  if you want to get past the GATE you better look like you belong."

"And I suppose you had no trouble?"

"Of course not.  Pokemon battles are no excuse to shun looking decent."  To emphasize his point, the elder Kokoro straightened his tie, not once dropping his grin. "I suppose that means little to you though."

Adrian merely glared back at his sibling, "...And I suppose you came for reasons OTHER than mocking my clothing and lending me a suit?"

"Ah...  You always did see through my intentions.  I might be angry at you for that someday."  The older brother pulled a pokeball off his belt, "This is Fu.  Fu is a Kadabra, although when I give him to you, he'll evolve into an Alakazam."

"You're giving me one of your Pokémon?  But I just beat my third gym..."  Adrian held the ball reverently; as if afraid it'd vanish if he held it wrong.

"And the fourth gym is filled with PSYCHIC types.  What do you have capable of fighting those?  Not much.  But Fu..."  For once, Adrian saw his brother's smile pause, "Fu will be the most powerful Pokémon you could ever want, as long as you take care of him."

"I will."  Adrian glanced up from the pokeball, only to see his brother walk away.

"Oh Adrian?  One more thing...  When you reach Salarcul?  I'll want my suit back."

Adrian watched as his brother walked away, before slowly moving his gaze back to the pokeball.  The daydream faded as the pure white ball's colors faded into the familiar green Adrian used.

A small beep on his Holon pokedex grabbed his attention.  He flipped the device open and read quickly, frowning.

All competitors are to meet in the Castform Cabana ballroom for the next match.

Please follow these guidelines:
- All competitors must have a fancy Pokémon-themed outfit.
- Double or Rotation matches only.

Fancy pokemon themed outfit...  His older brother's laughter echoed in his mind, mocking him.  Adrian stood, snapping his pokelauncher to his arm before marching out of the room.

The store had barely opened when Adrian almost burst through the door, striding straight to the line of male outfits.

"C-can Nola help you, Mister green-hair?"

Adrian whirled about, facing a former competitor.  From what Adrian could tell, it looked like a girl, but he wasn't too sure.  A pink furret was curled around the trainer's neck like a scarf.  "Nola?"

Nolan nodded in reply.

Well, the gym leader of Hibernica was named Nola.  I don't recall any guys with that name...

"What are you doing here, Nola?  Didn't you get beaten out of the running?"

"Well, Nola was told that Nola had to work here if I wanted to stay..."

"Ah, alright...  Oddly frugal for such a 'famed' facility though..."  Adrian caught a glimpse of a rather unique suit during his pause, "So...  I take it these are for the event?"

"Yes!"

"Good.  Then I'll be taking this one."  Adrian pulled a unique purple and white suit off the rack, glancing at the tag, "Mewtwo-themed?  Interesting..."

He quickly placed the outfit on the counter.

The checkout girl chattered happily in response, "Hi there!  I saw you fighting in round 2 with the big wailord!"

Adrian blinked, a bit dazed by the speed, "Um...  Alright.  You are?"

"I'm Maddy!  Nice to meet you!"

"Right.  Adrian."  He smiled at the possibly crazy girl, "I just need to buy this?"

"Kay, lemme ring that up for you!"  Maddy slid the outfit over the scanner, "that'll be...  98000 Pokemon dollars."

"Sweet Arceus that's expensive!  Does it have luxury balls stuffed in the pockets?!"  Adrian removed his wallet, sliding a credit card to pay, "I suppose my funds can take this hit..."

Maddy gave an apologetic smile, "Well, you see, Adrian, this one is kind of unique.  If you bought a differ- Wait, you can afford this?!"

"I've done a lot of Pokémon battles..."  Adrian grinned, "Luckily, Virdan trainer skill is inverse to the amount they bet on their Pokémon."  With that, Adrian took the suit and left.

Just after he was out of sight, a much taller man came in, with similar green hair and a grin that belonged in a psycho horror film.

"Hello.  I was wondering if you had a Beartic-themed white suit...  After all, Pokémon battles are no excuse to shun looking decent."
