Submarine Factions

Description

This is an idea I had about a world entirely covered in water without any landforms. (there are shallows though)

There are 4 factions vying for dominance, and they've aligned to two groups.

The SSC and the SPI

against

the United Cities and the Raiders (I am being unoriginal with them, bear with me)

Shina's Salvage Company is a group of wreck-scavengers who have banded together under the great warsub the SS Vigilence. The warsub is a relic of far more violent times. Indeed, Shina's grandfather was once the leader of a citysub that was destroyed by the other cities.

This faction has the largest carrying capacity and most robust armor.

Specialized Procurement Industries is an enigma. Their methods of salvage are weird, their submarines are strange, their weapons are unusual. They rarely salvage much of any wreck, taking only a few small objects before leaving the rest behind. Their base "The Skiff" is located deep inside a massive kelp forest on a shallow part of the water.

This faction has slightly above-average abilities, but their submarines use unusual weapons, and can 'jump.' 'jumping' is making a submarine leave the water a short period of time. Only the SPI can do this safely, as the sun's radiation will kill anyone else who tries.

The United Cities are the most numerous of the scavengers, riding in manufactured submarines. The call the massive city-subs that slowly move through the global ocean home. Theses submarines are not makeshift like an SSC submarine, nor jury-rigged like a raider sub. In fact, it's rare to see any modifications other than a paint job.

This faction boasts high agility and attack power. they tend to be average in other areas, but often they swap armor for speed.

Raiders are a faction that lives in more lawless waters. They abide by no codes of honor, and gain salvage by sinking other submarines. Their homes are often makeshift structures on the seafloor, hidden within reefs or rocks.

Raider submarines have peerless accuracy and speed. their damage is usually pretty good too, but they have miserable defenses.
